Animated wallpapers bring a small amount of motion — swaying foliage, drifting mist, flickering lantern light, rain texture — to a desktop or phone lock screen. They are about five seconds long, up to 4K, and average about 11 MB per file. Neither Windows nor macOS lets you use your own video as a wallpaper out of the box, so you will need a small helper app. Our full setup guide covers the free options on every major platform.
Every loop in this collection is a 5-second segment designed to repeat indefinitely. We generate them with WAN 2.2, a current-generation video diffusion model, and then upscale each clip with RealESRGAN so that the 4K output stays crisp without the blur you often see in AI-upscaled video. All motion is designed to be subtle: our goal is to animate the background without stealing attention away from whatever you are actually working on. If you want something more dramatic (flying particles, strong wind, rain), leave feedback via contact and we may add more dynamic variants.
Quick recommendations: on Windows use Lively Wallpaper (free, open source, on the Microsoft Store); on Android use a video live wallpaper app or your phone's own Gallery option; on iPhone convert the loop to a Live Photo with an app such as intoLive. macOS has no simple built-in option. See the how-to guide for step-by-step instructions per platform. Video wallpapers use some extra power, so turn on your app's option to pause on battery or during full-screen apps.
For desktop use we recommend the landscape variants (3840×2160 native). For phone lock screens pick the portrait versions (2160×3840). For 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide monitors the ultrawide variants (3440×1440) fit without cropping. Every theme below includes all three aspect ratios when available — click any card to see the static and animated versions side by side.
